Radio Banda B is a Brazilian radio station based in Curitiba, capital of the state of Parana. Operates on the AM dial, at a frequency of 550 kHz. It has a branch in the city of Cambara, North Pioneer of the State, operating on the frequency AM 650 kHz.
Radio Banda B was born from the initiative of radio broadcaster Luiz Carlos Martins to have its own radio station. For this, he purchased the AM 550 kHz frequency from Curitiba, which retransmitted CBN Curitiba. Radio Banda B was officially launched on March 1, 1999 and since then it stands out for its popular, journalistic programs and sports broadcasts, which in a way contributes to the good ratings of the broadcaster. When it opened, the studios were located in the Cristo Rei neighborhood, as of 2004, the station's headquarters were moved to the Vista Alegre neighborhood.
On June 11, 2018, the radio debuted on the FM dial, on the 107.1 MHz frequency. The radio was already in the process of changing and adapting to transmit on FM since 2015 and took over the frequency definitively after Wood's FM left.
