Africa No. 1 Description:
Africa n ° 1 is the most important of the French-speaking African radios. It was born in Gabon in 1981 and developed in Africa thanks to shortwaves and its FM transmitters. African radio in France has a global audience of 900,000 people, more than 180,000 of whom listen to it every day. Africa n ° 1 Paris, a legally distinct French company, was born in 1992. It has three FM transmitters in Paris (107.5 FM), Melun (92.3 FM) and Mantes la Jolie (87.6 FM). Africa n ° 1 Paris offers its listeners specific programs consisting of information, debates, music, sport and interactivity. It relays at 4.30 a.m., 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. UT on major BBC Africa news editions live from Dakar. The two channels also produce together a political program produced in duplex between Paris, Dakar and the African capitals (the Debate Saturday 11:00 UT).
